Go to our Shop page to purchase a limited edition of this wonderful new children’s book about Sol, the pliable Oriental cat who loves an odd dozing spot or two…. But watch out for the outcome of one of his napping nooks! A charming rhyming bedtime story for 4-8 year olds, whether they want it read to them or read it themselves to test their vocabulary.
It was time for a refresh, so here it is!
Also, as a nod to HRH the Duke of Edinburgh’s passing, as another great consort, we offer a little history behind our name Consort Design…
Although the most commonly used verb can have not very salubrious connotations (but maybe we don’t mind a bit of that 🙂 ), the noun is where we’re at i.e. the meaning of being a companion and guide to someone or something. We like to think of it as us guiding clients through their design project until their desired destination, also like a ship accompanying another. Which therefore also lends itself to the wonderful sight of dolphins or porpoises accompanying yachts by swimming alongside them, frolicking in the waves by the bow, and voilà our logo. The founding team at Consort all have maritime links and have experienced this first hand from the waters of the Caribbean to the Greek isles via The Solent, so it all fell into place. We hope our clients feel looked after and buoyed in spirit after their design projects comes to fruition!
It is with deep sadness that we let our extended family of Consort clients, suppliers and friends know about the heart-breaking news that our recently retired co-founder Steve passed away on the 1st November.
Steve founded Consort with Ray Perry in 1998 – I joined them in 2000 (and Paul in 2006) having previously worked with them in 1997. So continued years of successful design conscientiousness and capers much to the unique energy and humour that we all experienced with Steve. He was always going the extra mile (or 100) for clients and friends in true Steve and Consort spirit, and wouldn’t rest until a job was delivered safely and on time.
Always ready for some wicked pranks and giggles, on occasion he could be seen walking down from our East Finchley studio with a superman cape and underpants over his clothes, taking a toy rabbit for a walk on a wire lead or bringing in grappa to sample from his friends on his allotment.
Steve had moved to Wales in recent years, continuing to work remotely in his beloved Pembrokeshire. He was a devoted husband, cat collector and immersed himself in being part of the fabric of his adopted home and land. Originally hailing from Sheffield, his network of friends was abundant and we feel bereft without him.
Donations to the wonderful home care charity Steve received in his last days can made via this link for the Paul Sartori Foundation.
Long may your star shine Steve.

We know that there are a lot of parents dealing with homeschooling now, so we’ve put together these little videos for a burst of very low tech creativity and fun amongst all the Zoom classes and meet-up! Enjoy this Go Fish project for your pre-prep age kids.
Despite the challenges of the Corona situation, the Consort team are continuing to work as normal in this time of ‘new normal’. We have been fully set up for remote working for some time now already so there’s no interruption with current and new projects. We hope you are all keeping well and hanging in there…!
Consort Design are delighted to have helped the Fursa Trust with their new brand. The Fursa Trust is an extremely worthwhile charity helping desperately poor children living in slums in Nairobi, Kenya…
This private gym in St John’s Wood NW8 is run by Ali and his great team of fitness experts. We had the joy of creating their new website and integrating an online booking system. Go and check the place out for excellent fitness and nutrition guidance on Boundary Road. The Fuel Café on site is fantastic too! www.nw8performance.co.uk
